Air-to-Air Refueling Flights (AAR)

AAR missions in transit phase with no AAR action in progress and/or no joined fighter aircraft present are considered ‘Transportation Missions’ of ‘Military Transport Aircraft’ acc. to Section 3 of the DIC TA and thus subject to the implementation of its provisions (annual DCN published on DIC portal, and/or harmonized request procedure).

 

Transport Helicopter Flights

Transport helicopter missions are considered ‘Transportation Missions’ of ‘Military Transport Aircraft’ acc. to section 3 of the DIC TA and thus subject to the implementation of its provisions (annual DCN published on DIC portal, and/or harmonized request procedure).

 

IATA-non-compliant Dangerous Goods

In order to receive a flight permit for carrying the dangerous goods, a NATO member or/and EU Member State shall, by diplomatic procedure, send a flight permit request to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs not later than 3 working days before the planned flight of the aircraft.

The subject of the international public law shall append the information to the flight permit request section “Remarks” an affirmation that the dangerous goods are packaged and secured in the aircraft in accordance with the Technical Instructions For The Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air (Doc 9284) requirements.

If the aircraft is planning to land in a civil aviation aerodrome of the Republic of Latvia, information must be included on the unloading and loading conditions of the dangerous goods, specific requirements for processing the cargo, as well as instructions for action of emergency services in cases of incidents.
