(XX) stands for the ISO 3166 two-letter country code of the signatory using the DCN for their flight, with the exception of EL being used for Greece.

Please refer to the sections “Additional Regulations/Instructions” and “Excluded Aerodromes”/”Excluded Areas” for specific restriction regarding the application of the pre-grant DCN above.

DIC Option

Cyprus selected option 1.

Additional Regulations / Instructions


For “Excluded Aerodromes / Areas“, “Air-to-Air Refueling Flights“, “Transport Helicopter Flights“, and “IATA-non-compliant Dangerous Goods” see the dedicated sections further down.


Military Exercises: All aircraft involvement in military exercises require also a special clearance, stating the type, period and location of the exercise as well as the personnel strength of the unit(s) concerned and the types of weapons carried. Deadline for submission to not later than 10 working days prior to the intended date of the exercise.

 

Excluded Aerodromes

  1. Paphos International Airport (PFO) and Paphos Military Base (Andreas Papandreou) are exempt from the annual DIC TA DCN due to limited parking space. Any request for landing at Paphos Military Base (Andreas Papandreou) should be submitted NLT 3 working days before ETD.
  2. For landings at LARNACA Airport, carrying ICAO/IATA compliant cargo, no approval is required. However, CY Civil Aviation must be informed in advance by email (sstephanou@dca.mcw.gov.cy and civops@cytanet.com.cy) for the arrival of aircraft for further coordination with airport services.
  3. Landings at LARNACA Airport, carrying ICAO/IATA non-compliant cargo are not accepted.

 

Excluded Areas

None.

 

Air-to-Air Refueling Flights (AAR)

AAR missions in transit phase with no AAR action in progress and/or no joined fighter aircraft present are not considered ‘Transportation Missions’ of ‘Military Transport Aircraft’ acc. to Section 3 of the DIC TA and thus subject to the implementation of its provisions (annual DCN published on DIC portal, and/or harmonized request procedure).

 

Transport Helicopter Flights

Transport helicopter missions are considered ‘Transportation Missions’ of ‘Military Transport Aircraft’ acc. to section 3 of the DIC TA and thus subject to the implementation of its provisions (annual DCN published on DIC portal, and/or harmonized request procedure).

The DIC TA DCN is not applicable for flights with combat helicopters.

 

IATA-non-compliant Dangerous Goods

All transports of ICAO/IATA non-compliant dangerous goods require a minimum of 10 working days for processing.

Overflights of transports with ICAO-/IATA—Non Compliant Dangerous Goods over the territory of Cyprus should be avoided.
